The drug "Pertussin". Instructions
The medicine "Pertussin", the instruction to the drug informs about it, is a combined remedy with antitussive, expectorant and phlegm-diluting action.
The medication is available in the form of syrup in containers (bottles) of fifty, one hundred and one hundred and twenty-five milliliters.
A hundred grams of the indicated remedy contains 12grams of herbal extract of thyme and one gram of potassium bromide. The first component significantly improves the secretory effect of bronchial glands and reduces the viscosity of sputum, which is why it acquires a liquid consistency and is much easier to clear up. In addition, this extract gives a great deal of activity to the cilia of the ciliated epithelium in the bronchi, and this, in turn, promotes the fastest and complete disposal of sputum in the tracheo-bronchial tree.
Potassium bromide helps reduce the excitability of the central nervous system, resulting in a reduced cough (because the corresponding reflex is suppressed).
Auxiliary substances: sugar syrup and ethyl alcohol.
The preparation "Pertussin" (syrup), the instruction onapplication contains this information is shown for use in the following cases: diseases of the lungs and respiratory tract, characterized by the presence of viscous, difficult to separate sputum; bronchitis (acute and chronic form); chronic lung disease (obstructive); pharyngitis; pneumonia; laryngitis; bronchial asthma; pulmonary tuberculosis; tracheobronchitis; tracheitis; whooping cough; flu; cystic fibrosis; acute respiratory-viral diseases. Notes
The drug "Pertussin", the instruction emphasizes notshould be taken at the same time as pharmaceuticals that block the cough reflex. Among them: "Kodelak", "Libexin", "Stoptussin", "Terpinkod", "Sinekod", used to get rid of dry cough. Failure to comply with this recommendation is fraught with stagnation of sputum in the bronchial tree, which leads to the multiplication of pathogens of various infections. As a consequence - an aggravation of the inflammatory process.
The optimal option is a combinedreception of the above medicines. In the daytime, for example, tablets "Mukaltin" or syrup "Bromgexin" (expectorants) are used, and anti-cough drugs are used once before bedtime, which will ensure a full rest at night.
Symptom of an overdose of the drug in question is nausea.
Shelf life of the drug is four years. Keep it recommended in a cool dry place, protected from direct sunlight.
