The poor woman is so clogged that she unquestioningly carries out the order of the butler and pretends to be drunk before Gerasim, so that he himself refuses it. The trick was successful, but the janitor still retains sympathy for her, and when she leaves for the village she gives her a red kerchief.

Gavril

The butler Gavrila is a simple rascal muzhik who is ready for any trick to achieve this goal.
