Personality disorder: not a norm, but not a pathology
Every day we meet a large number of people. Sometimes we see that not all is well with them. Of course, it can not always be called psychopathy, but some people cope too badly with everyday problems, their behavior is very conservative, and they can not react flexibly. A psychiatrist doctor will say that such a person has a personality disorder. However, this phrase says little.
For accuracy, many types of personaldeviations from the norm. All variety of Western specialists are divided into 3 main categories: eccentric behavior, theatrical behavior and anxious behavior. However, there are disorders outside the classification, for example, passive-aggressive.
Unusual people
Eccentricity is peculiar to some personalities, they are most often noted as not quite normal non-specialists.
- Paranoiac personality disorder. Such people are extremely suspicious. In a personal relationship, they are cold and keep a distance. They, without proper evidence, very quickly begin to assume that other people want to harm them and are not good to them. Therefore, they react very negatively to the slightest signs of antipathy. And people really start to treat them badly because of this negative reaction.
- Schizoid disorder. Such people avoid others, preferring to live in a world of their fantasies, tend to abstractly theorize, but in practice they are often helpless. Never share their deep feelings. They say little and are afraid of emotional intimacy.
- Schizotypic disorder. These people are similar in behavior to human schizoid. The difference is that schizotypes are unusual in behavior, perception and styles of activity. Many of those who subsequently developed schizophrenia exhibited schizotypic behavior. However, most people with this disorder never become schizophrenic.
When the theater is not entertaining
All these people are to some extent demonstrative, their behavior is unstable and infantile.
- Hysterical personality disorder. People with this diagnosis are constantly looking for communication. They want to attract attention always and everywhere, taking away the share of others. Often they tend to see sexual implication in a relationship where gender does not matter. Hysteria easily converge with people, but their relationship is superficial. Sometimes they invent illnesses for themselves.
- Narcissistic frustration. Such people are cold and love only themselves. They need admiration, and they are very sensitive to criticism. They do not wait, they often achieve a lot in life, but the bosses of them turn out to be very bad, because they can not tolerate the fact that someone is more talented than they, and that is why they often "choke" promising ideas.
- Antisocial disorder. Such people theatrically reject any norms and rules adopted in society. What's interesting, if there are no spectators, then they can accept the fact that they have to follow the norm. They are often incapable of repentance and tend to exploit others for gain.
Fears Brighter than Impressions
In the West, there is no single disturbing personality disorder, people with such characteristics are divided into three groups.
- Avoiding personality. These people are fenced off from others, but not because they do not need society. They are afraid that they can be rejected, and therefore avoid taking on new tasks and getting to know new people. Very appreciate the existing relationship, and therefore become very good partners in marriage, if the other half can tolerate their indecisiveness.
- Dependent personality. Such people are unsure that they can take care of themselves. They avoid making serious decisions, shifting them to other people's shoulders. They are afraid to express their opinion, so as not to offend those on whom they depend. They believe that others have great abilities.
- Obsessive-compulsive personality. These people are perfectionists and try to keep everything under control. Seriously relate to their duties and often can not complete the assignment, which causes problems at work. Although if they work independently in the scientific field, where orderliness and attention to detail are required, such people achieve great success.
The list of disorders with these anomalies of personal development is not exhausted, however, we described the most common.
Personality disorder is not a psychiatric illness, therefore, such people should be treated, if possible, tolerantly and help them feel better in your society.
