Crohn's disease is a diagnosis or a sentence?
Crohn's disease is an inflammationorgans located mainly in the abdominal cavity, which often occurs in a chronic form and is accompanied by the formation of granulomas as a result of changes in epithelial cells lining the intestine. In most cases, with this disease, inflammation of the ileum is observed. In severe cases, there may be changes throughout the gastrointestinal tract, up to the rectum.
Such a disease is predominantly prevalentin North America and northern Europe. The incidence of the disease is 2-3 people out of 1000. The peculiarity of this disease is that its manifestation can be observed at the age of 16-35 years, and in those persons who are already over 60 years old.
In other words, Crohn's disease is an ailment,complications of which can lead to the formation of internal fistulas and abscesses, ulcers, peritonitis, perforation. This disease is practically incurable, and relapse can be observed in several decades after the last manifestation of the symptoms of the disease.
