Singapore is a rich state insoutheast Asia, known for its harsh laws and a high standard of living. Independence was acquired by the country relatively recently, and therefore all the symbolism arose in the middle of the twentieth century. So the flag of Singapore appeared only in 1959.

Singapore for a long time was one of the Britishcolonies in southeast Asia. The United Kingdom took the island under its control in 1819, only in 1959, removing custody from the state. Initially, the flag of Singapore was three stars,but the leadership of the country considered that such a banner would be associated with the symbols of the Communists of Malaysia, having a similar standard. This was very undesirable, since the state with all its might tried to discard the Marxist ideals, so that two more pentagonal figures were added.
