"Swallow's Nest" in Crimea - a romantic castle in the spirit of the Middle Ages
"Swallow's Nest" has long been a kind ofa visiting card of the Southern coast of Crimea. This remarkable building resembles a knight's castle from the Middle Ages, which is nestled on a small piece of land, on the rock of the Aurora. Millions of posters and postcards dispersed around the world, attracting tourists to Ukraine with a view to looking at this miracle and taking a picture next to it. Then the building was in the possession of the courtdoctor A.K. Tobin, who inherited his wife, and she in turn sold the merchant Rachmanina. It was the Muscovite who gave her dacha a new name - "Swallow's Nest". So a few decades later the building was bought by a German, baron von Stengel, who deals with Baku oil. It was he who gave the building the look of a Gothic castle, the works were finished in 1912.

Major repairs were made only in 1967 with the help of volunteers who, with the risk of life, poured cracks with concrete. After that, a cozy restaurant again started working, and the tourists were allowed to enter the balcony with cameras.
