Participation in the "quadruple duel"

The latter was hopelessly in love with the well-known ballerina A. Istomin, who was on the staff of cavalier guard V. Sheremetev. Somehow after the quarrel of lovers Alexander Sergeevich, who did not have a special affection for a young woman, went to the backstage to her and invited her to a "cup of tea" (most likely to make a nice friend). The witness of their departure from the theater was Sheremetev, who, on the advice of his friend, cornet A. Yakubovich, summoned Griboedov to a duel. He refused, but added that he was ready to shoot with his second. As a result, the "quadruple duel" was held. Opponents in it in 1817 were Zavadovsky and Sheremetev. The latter received a fatal wound, and the fight between the seconds had to be postponed for almost a year. Griboyedov, then secretary of the Russian embassy in Persia, and Yakubovich, exiled to the Caucasus, met in Tiflis. The poet during the duel received a bullet in the left hand. It is on this injury that his corpse is identified after the murder in Persia.
Personal life of Griboedov: marriage

However, he did not start a serious relationship until he met with the Georgian princess Nina Chavchavadze in the summer of 1828 in Tbilisi (Tbilisi). He had known her for a long time, but this time a beautiful girl with a kind and sensitive look appeared before him.
