The Primorsky Theater of Opera and Ballet is very young. It exists only a few years. Today it is no longer an independent theater, but a branch of the Mariinsky Theater. This is not a very big repertoire yet. But at the same time the theater is the organizer of several festivals.

About the theater

KSAU "Seaside Opera and Ballet Theater" is one of thethe youngest and the modern, not only in the Far East, but throughout Russia. It was opened in 2012. Due to its original design, the theater is one of the main attractions of the city. Its building is built according to the most modern technologies. It has the form of a "cube in a cube". The theater has three halls: small, large and summer. The first is used for conducting chamber concerts and performances. And also for creative meetings, conferences and evenings of romances. The Great Hall is designed for large concerts and large-scale performances. The summer playground works only in the warm season. On this stage there are open concerts of the chamber staff of the orchestra of the theater.

The Great Hall is built in the form of a horseshoe. It is designed for 1390 spectators. Its unique acoustics are created thanks to the use of natural materials - panels from the Philippine pine. The small hall seats 312 spectators. Its uniqueness lies in the fact that it provides a transforming stalls.

In the theater there were such celebrities as Maria Maksakova, Valery Gergiev, Yuri Bogdanov, Denis Matsuev, Sergei Roldugin, Elena Obraztsova and many others.

The troupe of the seaside opera is actively touring. The theater, among other things, organizes international festivals. Musicians and vocalists from all over Russia and from European countries take part in them.

Today, the Primorsky Opera and Ballet Theater is a branch of the St. Petersburg Mariinsky Theater.

"Bridges of Culture" is a music festival in which artists from other cities take part. They speak to the audience and conduct master classes for pupils of music schools.

"Seaside Key" is a music festival that takes place in several cities of the region. In its framework there are concerts, on which masterpieces of world classics sound.

"Tchaikovsky-175" is one of the brightest festivals in Russia. In his framework, all the operas and ballets of P.I. Tchaikovsky, as well as all his symphonic works were played.

"The Guardian of Peace" is a festival thatis dedicated to the victory of our people over the fascist invaders. It takes place from 7 to 11 May. Within the framework of the festival, S. Prokofiev's opera The Story of a Real Man was shown. On May 9, a concert was held under the title "Songs of War and Peace."

"15 Symphonies by Dmitry Shostakovich" isa music festival, at which the works mentioned in his name were sounded. In it, in addition to the theater of Primorye, well-known musicians and soloists performed in Russia and in the world.
