Et Cetera Theater: repertoire, troupe

The Moscow theater Et Cetera is quite young. At the same time the troupe formed a remarkable one. In his repertoire, many performances based on plays by contemporary playwrights.

About the theater

Kalyagin Theater Et Cetera exists since 1990. His troupe composed a course of talented graduates of the Moscow Art Theater School, the teacher of which was A. Kalyagin. They graduated and decided to work together. At first their teacher did not take part in it, he did not even have to create his own theater. But then he began to help his former students solve some organizational problems. Then they asked permission to use the name of A. Kalyagin on the poster. Then the famous actor and teacher decided to conduct several rehearsals. As a result, he became artistic director and chief director of the formed company.

The Et Cetera Theater first rented one thatroom, then another for want of own. And I got my building in 1996. It was located in the center of the capital. But the building was not very suitable for the theater. The hall was intended for conferences, and the stage was not suitable for performances. But there was no opportunity to remodel the room. Nevertheless, the performances were staged in such terrible conditions. In 2002, the Moscow government passed a resolution on the construction of a new building. Now the troupe "lives" at the address: Frolov lane, house 2.

Today, the theater Et Cetera is attracting attention, hebright, diverse, unusual, original, original, huge. In the architecture of the building there is a mixture of all styles. This was the idea of A. Kalyagin. He also came up with the name of the theater. It reflects the simultaneous simplicity and complexity of his aspirations. Theater A. Kalyagin and his troupe wanted to make alive, without harsh ideas, developing, changing, not moving away from the past, but forward-looking, into the future. And so on, that is Et Cetera. In a word, the ellipsis.
