History of the theater

"The Old House" is a theater that was created in the 30syears of the 20th century. At the initial stage of his existence he was mobile. He started his creative life as a branch of the theater with the name "Red Torch". The actors toured throughout the Novosibirsk region. The repertoire included plays by A. Ostrovsky, M. Gorky, A. Korneychuk.

In 1943 the theater received the status of Regional. During the war the troupe performed at the fronts. In 1967, the theater "Old House" received its own building. His address is Novosibirsk, Bolshevist Street, house No. 45. Here the theater "lives" today. In 1975, a talented director Vladimir Chernyadev came to his stage. He was a disciple of G. Tovstonogov himself. Thanks to him in the repertoire appeared works of contemporary authors. Its current name was given to the theater in 1991. A new director and art director in one person Semen Verhradsky contributed to this.

In 2008, the "Old House" celebrated its 75th anniversary. The publication of the book by Elena Klimova entitled "Remarks on the fields of history" was timed to coincide with this event. It tells about how the theater started the creative path and how it began today. Today the troupe constantly takes part in festivals. In 2011, on the stage of the "Old House" wasthe project "Days of the Italian Theater" was organized. His program included the screening of several performances by director Antonio Latella on the tragedies of Euripides.
