Its increase strongly determines the success and survival of the enterprise in the conditions of the modern market, the introduction of innovations, the pace of technical progress, and the savings of various resources that are used in this enterprise.

That is why it is necessary to carry out purposeful and constant work of commodity producers on significant improvement of quality of their production in comparison with analogues produced by competitors.

Such a concept as the quality of products is strictly regulated by the state standard of the Russian Federation.

What is quality in general? This is nothing more than the totality of all the properties of products that determine its suitability for satisfying certain needs in accordance with its purpose.

Product quality is a relative category. It is fixed for a certain period of time, and then it simply changes when a more progressive technology appears. Evaluation of product quality occurs by comparing all of its properties with some standard. They can serve the best foreign or domestic samples or requirements that are fixed in technical specifications or standards. But the consumer is still given the main place in the process of assessing the quality of services or products. And the function of standards is to regulate and consolidate the progressive experience that has accumulated in the field of quality.

Standardization is standard-settingan activity that finds the most rational norms and fixes them in various normative documents - instructions, standards, methods and so on. Standardization should create a system of normative and technical documentation that will determine the progressive requirements for services or products manufactured for the needs of the population, the economy, exports, and defense of the country. It also monitors the correctness of the use of all this documentation. The standard is developed for material objects, rules, norms and requirements.

The quality of products in the enterprise is measured byten main indicators: designation, manufacturability, unification and standardization, reliability, safety, aesthetic, ergonomic, patent legal, environmental, transportability. The aggregate of all these indicators and forms the quality of products. Any product should please the eye, be reliable, functional, that is, meet the needs for which it was intended. But in addition to indicators, great value is also the price. After all, the consumer always compares the set of properties of a product and the price of it.

Therefore, it is very important to identify and classify the costs of product quality. For their intended purpose, they are divided into those that are designed to provide quality, improve quality and manage quality.

The cost of quality assurance is everythingcosts that were incurred in order to meet all the requirements set by the consumer. The costs of improving quality are aimed at meeting the anticipated requirements of consumers. And the cost of quality management is needed to develop and implement preventive and corrective measures that are necessary to eliminate the identified or prevent potential inconsistencies of services (products) with the requirements imposed on it.
