Formal - is it definitely imperfect?
In Russian, the word "formal" hasmultiple values. Formal - it can be and that which corresponds to the form, that is, is characteristic of it, and such that it observes only the external manifestation of a case to the detriment of its being. Formal is often called something that exists only for appearances. But is it always the term "formal" that has a negative connotation?
Formal communication
Formal communication is called a contact in a different waymasks. That is, this is a situation where the personality of the interlocutor is not taken into account, there is no desire to understand it more deeply. Formal, as a rule, are diplomatic or other business relations, where contacts are forced and occur strictly on an official level. With such communication, the interlocutors use masks of courtesy, modesty, courtesy, while diligently concealing their true attitude to what is happening behind the set of standard smiles, gestures and gestures.
What is a formal relationship?
Formal communication is closely related to formalrelations in which the positions of each are known in advance. They are determined by the rules and do not allow any exits beyond the rules. Due to this, a person can avoid personal relationships with people who may seem unpleasant or unwanted for contact.
After all, with formal relations, the interlocutors, likethe rule is focused on an external goal (for example, as in a buyer-seller relationship), and communication in this case is only a way to achieve the goal, and the interlocutor is the instrument for achieving it. By the way, the more programmed is the behavior of such a "tool", the easier it is to use it, to maintain business contact with it.
How can one treat formal relations?
It should be said that for a developed societyformal relations are very economical. They do not require the expenditure of emotional energy and time to try to get acquainted, to develop an opinion about the interlocutor, the desire to put it to oneself, etc. They allow you to act immediately, get in touch for a short time and forget about the interlocutor immediately after achieving the desired result.
Relations that have the status of "formal" -it's a way to turn a community into a single organism. At the same time, anyone who does not go beyond the established rules, such relationships are transformed into a component of the body, rewarding in return a sense of security, stability and unity, which are another aspect of formal relations.
A little more about the formal relationship
If you communicate within the framework of such relationships, thenthe result, even if it is not fully known or not necessarily positive, will still be within the expected or supposed. And this means - you can prepare yourself beforehand to respond to it in a certain way.
After all, often the result itself does not frighten us, viz.something that he can take unawares, and a person will not be able to adequately respond. Hence, the "formal" is an algorithm of communication that allows us to maintain relations without having to bother with many small things and anticipating the outcome.
Relationships in Formal Organizations
The described relations can subordinate themselvesrather large groups of people who make up the organization. That is, a community where the relationship is clearly structured and subject to the charter, rules and internal regulations - this is a formal organization. The person here acts primarily as a functionary. Each such organization is inherent in the rationality of relations, their uniqueness and impersonality.
However, sometimes all this can begin to be wornthe nature of the bureaucratic structure, whose perceptions become the absolutization of individual elements of the organization, the loss of the content goals of its activities and the subordination of functioning only to the strengthening of the organization itself. Hence the origin of the concept of bureaucracy, formalism and callousness.
On Formal Law
The state is the same formal organization with strictly structured relations within it and the statute in the form of Legislation that regulates everything that is happening.
But a citizen living in a modern statewe have to remember two options of law existing in society: formal and real. Formal law rests on the Law (often imperfect) and the judicial system (often not fully developed and independent), and therefore can not cope with all the variety of manifestations of public life. The real right is a set of traditions, generally accepted behavioral stereotypes and repetitive phenomena of public life. And therefore formal and informal law often do not overlap, having different spheres of application.
Conclusion
As you can see, whatever branch of the publicrelations we have endowed with the term "formal", this word can be very ambiguous. Formal relations in any manifestation are a sign of progress only until they become a "thing in themselves", they do not turn into husks, packaging, in which there is nothing.
