In 1912, the government of the province of Ontario decided to create a museum. Originally it was an exposition located in the premises of the university. Belonged to the exhibition of the historical faculty. In 1968, the exposition acquired the status of an independent institution, separated from university structures and began to be called as it is known until today - the Royal Museum of Ontario. Toronto, a city at that time not yet so populated, took under its care a new cultural institution. The exhibition complex began to develop at a rapid pace.
