Kyiv National Trade and EconomicUniversity (KNTEU) is one of the "locomotives" of Ukraine's education. Within its walls, one of the first to introduce the newest educational systems, advanced methods of teaching are being tested. Kyiv University of Trade and Economics conductspedigree from the All-Union Institute of Soviet Trade, whose branch in Kiev was opened in 1946. In 1966, after re-subordinating the Donetsk and Kharkov branches, the institution received an independent status of the institute, and subsequently - of the university.

To ensure comprehensive trainingspecialists in the University function in 194 auditoriums for 7596 places, including 27 streaming lecture rooms (for 60 or more seats) and specialized laboratories, 45 computer classes with Internet-connected educational display sites. The total number of students is about 40,000 people.

Upon admission to Kiev Trade and Economicthe university passing grade is formed from two components: the average ball of the certificate of entrants and the average ball of VNO entrants (external independent evaluation). For each of the specialties, it is different and is formed based on the popularity of the subject. In 2010, the overall average score and ball of VNO were 178.15 and 170.17, respectively.

Accommodation

Kyiv University of Trade and Economicshas its own housing stock. On the territory of the campus there are three student dormitories located near the main educational building. The center of the city (Khreshchatyk street) can be reached in 30 minutes. Near the university there are forest park area and Kyoto Park.

In dormitories there are double and triple rooms withbathroom, kitchens on each floor and laundry. The university has dining rooms (in the main building and building D), a shop (in the main building), cafes and buffets (in all educational buildings).

Medical care

On the territory of the campus is functioningdental clinic, and also there is a medical center where the district therapist and two paramedics work, carry out preventive vaccinations, manipulation procedures, and sanitary-educational work. In the hall of the main building of the university there is a pharmacy kiosk.

Foreign citizens Kiev Nationalthe trade and economic university guarantees medical assistance in accordance with the regulations of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine for numbers 1146, 79 and 1021. Medical care for foreigners temporarily staying within Ukraine is carried out in state and municipal health institutions for their own funds and under contracts of medical insurance with Ukrainian insurers .

Insurance

For Ukrainian students insurance is voluntary. Foreign citizens who have chosen Kiev University of Trade and Economics for training are obliged to purchase an insurance policy for emergency medical care (except for foreigners who have arrived from countries with which Ukraine has concluded an agreement on gratuitous medical assistance). When applying to a medical institution, a foreigner must present an appropriate insurance policy. If necessary, the university promotes the formulation of the required medical policy.

Financial provision of students

To students-budgetary employees of day faculties, the average score of achievement in which, according to the results of the final control is 4 or higher, an academic scholarship is charged monthly.

The order on accrual of students of KNTEU scholarshipsIt is published once a semester. All first-year students who study on a budgetary basis receive a scholarship in the first semester. The appointment of a scholarship in the next semester depends on the success of the training.

For special successes in studies, participation in scientific, public, sports work, students can be awarded incentive scholarships:

• Academic from the President of Ukraine.
• Academic from the Verkhovna Rada.
• Academic Cabinet of Ministers.
• The Kyiv mayor.
• Personal academic KNTEU.

Activists can also be encouraged by letters, thanks, valuable gifts, cash bonuses and the like.

Library

Kyiv University of Trade and Economicsis proud of its library. The KSTEU book fund comprises 1,385,147 textbooks and 270 periodicals. The annual volume of replenishment of the fund exceeds thousands of copies. Most of the work processes in the library are automated: acquisition, processing, issuing literature, searching documents in the electronic catalog. To record and use the library, a digital signature (Pin-Code) is embedded in the reader's electronic form.

The library has created comfortable conditions forusers of information. There are 6 reading rooms, 7 subscription, IBA, multimedia library, foreign literature halls, electronic catalogs, new literature receipts, special sectors: methodical publications, dissertations and author's abstracts of KSTEU teachers.

Sports and leisure

Classes for physical education of studentsuniversities are carried out on a sectional basis in various areas: football, basketball, volleyball, tennis, sports aerobics, badminton, athletic gymnastics, swimming, body-fitness, general physical training, physical rehabilitation. Every year, a sports day is organized in 13 sports, initiated by the Kiev University of Trade and Economics.

An important direction of organizational and educational work at the university is the participation of students in traditional events, the main of which are: Dedication to students, Student days, debut of freshman, faculties, KVN teams festival, Brain Ring Championship, student festival "Barbecue".

The university has a cultural and artistica center in which creative amateur groups operate: a folk dance ensemble, a vocal and modern music studio, a student chamber choir.
