These small insects of the order of arachnids inhabiteverywhere. They are unpretentious and omnivorous. Most representatives of these ticks are predators. He lives in the soil, cracks in the bark, under leaves, in mud, and crevices. Most often, gamas mites eat small invertebrates, larvae, worms and decomposed organic remains. In nature, there are many, and most do not cause a person any trouble.

But some gamma mites have adapted toparasitism on large insects and even on vertebrates. Now several such species have been studied: mouse, rat and chicken. As the names indicate, they live mainly in rural areas, but can also be found in urban apartments, especially on the first and last floors. In this case, they attack the pets and the person, feeding on their blood.

What do the claws look like? Photo of them is hardly familiar even to those people who suffered from their bites. The fact is that these insects are very small - from 0.2 to 4 mm, and their color - yellowish or brown. Therefore, it is very difficult to notice them. These mites are blood-sucking insects, but they do not live on the skin of a person or animals.

Where do these insects live?

The gas mites in the apartment can appearin different ways: from the wool of domestic animals, from mice and rats, to the last floor they come from pigeons nesting under the roof. The most common are three types of these parasites, which cause trouble by their neighborhood.

• Mouse ticks live on house mice, but canto bite and the person. They represent the danger only with a large number of rodents. Most often found in rural areas or on the ground floors in old urban homes.
• Rat mouse pincers are more common. They live on rats, brown mice and other rodents. Often attacked by cats and dogs, as well as by humans. An animal can bring parasites on its wool, and they multiply, settling behind skirting boards, in crevices of the floor or under furniture.
• Chicken ticks are dangerous mainly for homebirds. In the countryside, they often suffer from poultry farmers, since from multiple bites the chickens are rushing less and may die. Very rarely such kinds of parasites appear in the city: from pigeons, crows or other birds. Getting into human habitation, chicken pliers can feed on people's blood.

What harm do these claws bring to a person?

Multiple bites of these arthropods causeallergic reaction: severe itching and irritation of the skin. This disease is called dermanissiosis or tick-borne dermatitis. When combing, the probability of infection and the development of severe inflammation are great. But, in addition, the gamma mites are carriers of dangerous infectious diseases. When bitten, they can infect a person:

• vesicle rickettsiosis;
• typhus fever;
• plague;
• borreliosis;
• tularemia.

All these diseases are very difficult and without timely treatment can lead to death.

Bites of gas-mite ticks

They cause a tick-dermatitis in a person,which is called gamazoidosis. These mites are not poisonous, but they inject a special protein when bitten, which causes skin irritation and itching. Traces last for about 3 weeks, causing unpleasant feelings to a person. How to get rid of gas mites

If parasites are found in the room or if there are signs of tick-borne dermatitis in humans and animals, special treatment should be carried out: deactivation and deratization.

• To prevent the penetration of rats and mice into the room, all cracks should be sealed.
• Treatment with special liquid insecticides andAcaricides are carried out mainly in places where rodents most often penetrate: in the bathroom and in the kitchen. Most of all, these drugs are effective at temperatures above 20 degrees.
• It is necessary to process litter of pets and places where they like to be most often. And the dog or cat should be washed with anti-block shampoo.
• If chicken mites are settled in the room, you need to get rid of the nests of birds under the roof. If the parrot lives in an apartment, it is important to carefully process its cage.

Measures to prevent the appearance of parasites

Especially this should be taken care of by people,living in rural areas. It is necessary to regularly treat the chicken coop with special powdered acaricides and prevent the penetration of rodents in the premises. In urban conditions, the clam mites are less common, but you still need to know how to protect yourself from them.
