A surprising region with a harsh and picturesquenature. Dense taiga forests of Yakutia border on the frosty expanses of the tundra, you can feel eternity here, of course, if you listen carefully. Original and ancient culture has long intertwined with the modern world of technology, but the natural attractions of Yakutia still attract adventurers.

Wild untouched nature of Yakutia is about17% of the country, and almost all of it does not come into contact with industrial enterprises. This is a real expanse for tourists. Here you can go to a pedestrian and extreme tour, for example rafting on the river or climbing a mountain. For those who like to spend time on their leisure with the benefit of the mind, there are ethnographic and ornithological excursions.

Cold sights of Yakutia

"The mountain of stone people," or Kisilekh, is stillone natural miracle of Yakutia. The huge stone blocks resemble the features of tall giants. The local people wrapped this place in mysterious stories and legends that make it even more attractive.

In the delta of the Lena River lonely island Poleb. At 104 meters, it rises above the river, and on its top is an ancient sanctuary, made up of stones. On a pole in the middle of the altar, travelers traditionally hang colored ribbons or coins as a tribute to unknown forces.

National parks and reserves
