Recreational function of the family as one of the most important functions of a social institution
The functions of a modern family are very different from those of the social institutions of the past.
1. Household (or economic). This function satisfies both public and individual needs of each member of society. It protects the health of every person, and is also responsible for the proper care for the disabled and underage. In addition, this function regulates the distribution of responsibilities among all members of society.
2. Regenerative. The family performs the function of inheritance status, social status, property and family name. In addition, this category also includes the transfer of family values. However, it is not necessary to mean only precious things under this concept. Here it is fair to include albums with family photos, which are dear to heirs as the history of their kind.
3. Recreational function of the family. It is her duty to ensure proper rest. Every person, coming home, should feel absolutely protected from any impact of the outside world. It does not matter whether the status, social status, or talents of a particular individual. The recreational function of the family has a special therapeutic effect.
4. Educational. It allows to provide the necessary self-realization, which consists in the education of new generations. This function includes the needs for maternity and paternity, the upbringing of children, as well as a sufficient level of contact with them.
5. Reproductive. This function is responsible for maintaining the population and meeting sexual needs. Love as a form of expression of this task in the basic unit of society includes two concepts: the continuation of the family and the fulfillment of marital duty.
As can be seen from the list, the recreational function of the family occupies a special place and is one of the most important functions of the community cell called "Family."
