After the construction of the house comesa stage where you view your possessions with great pleasure. However, while there is no blind area of the building, it is too early to dream of long-term exploitation. Some people consider this stage of construction to be superfluous, but this is an erroneous opinion. It is worth to learn how to properly make a blind area around the house, so that your home will please you as long as possible.
The duration of operation of any building isin direct dependence on the state of its foundation, and it has significant loads. Spilled autumn rains, abundant snow melt in the spring, strong winter frosts - all this can create significant problems for the owner of the house. The outer walls of the foundation begin to collapse under the influence of water, and this causes a distortion of the structure and the appearance of cracks. That is why any construction worker faces the task not only to erect a building, but also to make sure that the water from its walls is removed. The blind area is the simplest and most effective way to solve this problem. Let's look at it in more detail. If we talk about how to properly make a blind area around the house, it should be said that it can be done in one of two ways.
The first option involves the use ofpaving slabs. It is worth considering how to properly make a blind area around the house in this way. It is called hard, because in this case a cement mortar is used, which allows fixing the tiles in a certain position. First you need to determine the size of the area with a blind. Its minimum width should be 50-60 centimeters, but at the same time the structural features of the roof should be taken into account. The blind area around the building should extend beyond it by 20 centimeters. A shovel digs a trench of the necessary width to a depth of about 30 centimeters. The surface must be treated with herbicides, which allow to destroy the roots of plants. Then the bottom is covered with geotextile, while the allowances should be left on the side walls of the trench. It is covered with 15-20 centimeters of fine gravel, then sand, and everything is trampled. Dense mortar must be laid on a prepared "pillow", and on top of it you can have a tile. The blind area should stand for a couple of days, while it should not be affected by loads. When the solution finally hardens, a more liquid formulation should be prepared, which is smeared with all the seams. Tiles pour cold water, leave everything to stand still a couple of days.
If we talk about how to do it correctlyaround the house, it is necessary to consider the second option. It is done simply. Digging a trench of the required width, geotextiles are laid on its bottom, on top of which it is possible to pour a part of the soil. Next comes a layer of coarse sand or small gravel. You can tamper with all this, but lay a paving stone or tile on top. Seams between all elements are filled with sand. Such a blind area will serve not only to protect the basement, but also a path around the house.
