Peperomy. Care, cultivation, transplantation.

Peperomy belongs to the Pepper family. It can be both perennial and annual plants, and also they may be evergreen, herbaceous, epiphytic plants and rock. The homeland of many species of peperomy is the tropical regions of South America. But despite the great variety of plant species, peperomy, care for them is almost the same.

Peperomies have thick stems thatthere are lodging, creeping or upright. The leaves are as fleshy as the stems. The flowers of the peperium are collected in plain-looking inflorescences, similar to mouse tails, only stuck to the ground with a thin end. Fruits of peperomies are very small red balls located on the surface of the inflorescence. Flowering and fruiting in peperomies continues throughout the year, but this plant does not add much beauty. The most beautiful part of the plant is the leaves. They are shiny, as if varnished. Fruits fall off at the slightest touch.

As indoor plants, about 50species. Let's try to list some of them: pyelopterygus, pyperomia mulled, peperomia tulipnostnaya, peperomy delicate, peperomy mulberry, spotty peperomy, phaser feather, silvery pyperomy.

The best windows for placing the pyperium easternor Western. Pepermia does not like direct sunlight, but if you still have it on the southern window, then it should be pritenyat. In strong light, the leaves of the pyromania begin to wrinkle and fade. Peperomy with a dark-green color of the leaves is superbly tolerated by shading, but plants with a variegated color will need much more illumination in order to preserve their color. With lack of light variegation can disappear, and the leaves will become just green.

Peperomy care in winter

Peperomies do not have a state of winter rest and therefore the plant needs illumination in the winter season. With artificial lighting, this plant grows well and can only manage them.

The temperature at which the pyromania feelsitself is best, 20 - 22 degrees in summer and 18 - 20 degrees in winter. When growing peperomy, it is worth recalling that the plant does not like it the most. The plant does not tolerate drafts, and for this reason, even in the warm season, it is not applied to a balcony or terrace. And also the plant does not tolerate the cooling of the roots. Therefore, it is better not to put it on cold window sills in winter.

The watering of the peperium continues during the roundof the year. In spring and summer, watering is needed abundantly, and in winter - moderate. The top layer of the soil should always dry out, while the whole lump will be slightly damp. Peperomies do not equally like overflow, as well as over-drying. In the first case, the roots of the plant begin to rot, and in the second, the leaves will fall off. Low-growth and small-leaved species of pyperium are watered evenly throughout the year, except in winter. And species with thick and fleshy leaves can tolerate the drying of the earth's coma for quite some time. Peperomy can be sprayed from time to time. Feed the plant throughout the year with complex fertilizers: in spring and summer - twice a month, and in winter - once a month.

Does not require particularly complex peperomy care. It is not whimsical to the ground, but small-leaved species grow better in light, air-permeable soils.

Peperomy: care and transplant

In the first years of life, the plant is transplanted aloneonce a year, and in the subsequent once in two years. Pots for transplantation are wide and shallow. Also, the plant is transplanted, if it stopped growing or a root appeared in the drainage hole. Soil for transplantation is better to take a weakly acid.
