Hydraulic pullers - what are the differences and what are they used for?
What are hydraulic pullers? These are devices used for dismantling various parts and assemblies that are pressed in the outer and inner diameters and are fitted with interference. Often, these devices are equipped with two or more than three "legs" (supports) made of high-strength carbon steel. In order to achieve greater hardness and strength, these tools undergo additional heat treatment.
What can they do?
For today, hydraulic pullers can dismantle such parts as:
- bearings;
- propellers;
- kingpins;
- pulleys;
- bushings;
- couplings;
- flanges;
- gear drives;
- railway wheels and disks of heavy-duty vehicles, including tractors;
- brake discs;
- crankshafts.

Varieties
There are four main types of devices with a hydraulic drive:

This mechanism can have different lengths depending on the level and volume of work performed. Due to its small size, it is often used in hard-to-reach places. Technical characteristics are almost identical to the previous version with a built-in pump.
Pullers hydraulic clamp typeare used in those cases when it is necessary to remove a hard-to-remove part, that is, which can not be dismantled by devices with a standard gripper. In this case, these tools can work with devices ranging in diameter from 3.5 to 42 centimeters. The maximum force applied to the used part is simply enormous - up to 35 tons!
