GAZ 3307 - the favorite Soviet truck

Truck GAZ 3307 (popularly known bynickname "Lawn") was launched in production at the end of 1989. It is released to this day. During this considerable period of time many models and modifications of cars were built on its base, including GAZ Valdai, which had a "lawn" frame and a "Gazelle" cockpit. In fact, the 3307 was the fourth generation of the legendary "Gazon", whose history begins back in the 60's.

Initially, the GAZ 3307 was designed asmedium-tonnage flatbed truck. Still there were modifications with isothermal bodies. The novelty replaced GAZ 53, which seems to have been produced for ages. Despite the fact that the new model was developed and launched in production in 1989, the final removal from production of the 53rd model took place only in 1993.

GAZ 3307 - characteristics of load capacity

Like its predecessor, the novelty had a largeroad clearance and could be operated on virtually any road, even in the field. Load capacity was slightly higher - 4.5 tons instead of the previous four. By car it was planned to tow a trailer with a gross weight of 6 tons. Thus, the total load capacity of the machine was about 8 tons. But such a road train was practically never used, as the motor lacked power. To do this, the ideal option was a diesel analog - model 3309.

In the basic configuration (another simply does notThere was a spacious all-metal cabin with ventilation and heating. Unlike the 53 models, the novelty accommodates only two people. By the way, it was this truck that was the first one on which the power steering was installed from the assembly line (not counting the military version of GAZ 66).

From the predecessor was borrowed hoodlayout of the cabin. But no restyling engineers with it did not do - it was absolutely unique design, developed from scratch. The windshield in it was of a panoramic type. The driver has the ability to control all measuring instruments on the panel board. Now in the cabin everything is lined with plastic - no metal. The door had soft upholstery, and a seat belt and adjusting buttons were installed on the driver's seat. The buyer has the opportunity to select additional equipment - pre-heater.

Minor changes

The car did not divide into the classification for comfort, but went from the factory alone for everyone.

The only change was made in the 90sthe last century (then the company GAZ has developed a new version of a truck equipped with a diesel engine). All other units remained the same. Soon such a diesel version began to be serially produced under the model 3309. At first these models were equipped with Japanese, then British engines. But the model got true recognition when Minsk diesel D-240 was installed on it. These "lawns" were actively used as city carriers of products. And even now they are working at bakeries and other enterprises.
