UAZ "Patriot", the characteristic of the Russian SUV
UAZ Patriot, a popular Russian SUV,is produced at the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant since 2005. The model is produced under the UAZ index 3163 and is the successor of the two previous models, UAZ 3160 and UAZ 3162 Simbir, which were in series production from 1997 to 2005. Constructively UAZ "Patriot" completely repeats the model "Simbir", but it is an improved option in terms of comfort. Jubilee modernization
For all 8 years of UAZ "Patriot" production,the characteristic of which is not faulty, several times passed restyling, and the most significant changes were made in 2011, such as widening the track of both bridges. Such a radical change in the parameters of the running gear was timed to coincide with the 70th anniversary of the Ulyanovsk plant. The jubilee year turned out to be useful for UAZ Patriot model, the car's characteristics were enriched by several imported systems that facilitate the work of the driver. This power steering Italian company Delphi Italia Automotive, German brakes Conti Teves, English heater Saden Europe, combined with air conditioning. The Korean firm Dymos added a 5-speed gearbox to the already installed dispenser.
Engine
However, against such a global modernizationcar, engine UAZ "Patriot" remained the same, petrol 4-cylinder ZMZ, volume of 2.7 liters and power of 130 hp. Constructive disadvantages
One of the significant inconveniences that distinguish UAZPatriot, the characteristic of which is generally good, is the design of its fuel tanks. Two gas tanks, with a total capacity of 90 liters, are located on opposite sides of the car and do not unite with each other, which causes certain problems when refueling. The body structure does not allow to withdraw both filling ports to one side, it is also impossible to install an integral refueling tank without separating the luggage compartment from the passenger compartment. If you design a new body for the "Patriot" UAZ, the price of the car will increase dramatically, so for now everything remains as it is.
Chassis
The chassis of UAZ "Patriot" is simple andstructurally reliable. Front suspension-bridge on springs, with cross-balancing bar. Two telescopic shock absorbers of double action work on the principle of hydropneumatics, which ensures a fairly smooth running of the machine. The rear axle is dependent on two semi-elliptic springs, equipped with shock absorbers designed for a more rigid mode of operation compared to the front axle shock absorbers. Particular attention in the restyling process was paid to the modernization of the handbrake. On the previous models, the hand wheel was pulled out onto the rear propeller shaft, blocking it. In the new version, it was supposed to install a super efficient parking brake, working on the principle of hydraulics, but it ended in the fact that a conventional lever mechanism was installed, acting on the brake drums of the rear wheels.
