History of development

Regional Clinical Hospital (Veliky Novgorod)was opened on February 10, 1946. At that time, the institution had 90 beds, the staff consisted of 69 people. During the first year of his work, 3,299 patients were treated at the hospital. From 1946 to 1973, 8-8.5 thousand people were treated annually. By the time the clinic was 25 years old, it already contained 500 beds and 10 departments. It employed more than 500 people. From 1973 to 1979, the departments of the pathology of pregnancy, thoracic and maxillary surgery, urology, cardiorheumatology, phoniatric and surdologic cabinets began their work in the institution. The laboratory of radioisotope diagnosis was opened.

In the period from 1979 to 1995, The therapeutic building was formed, thanks to which new branches began to function. This, in particular: pulmonological, hematological and gastroenterological, as well as immunological laboratory. The departments of endoscopy, chronic hemodialysis, neurophysiological studies, ultrasound diagnosis, hyperbaric oxygenation, and remote lithotrepsy have become independent services. Since 1995, the clinic practices a new technique of surgical intervention, called laparoscopy. The centers of medicine of catastrophes and nontraditional medical aid work on the basis of the institution. The technical and information support service was organized, which includes a database for equipment repair and a computer center.
