Low blood sugar
Low blood sugar is hypoglycemia. This disease manifests itself most often in those who adhere to a strict diet. The main signs are a strong palpitation, pallor, sweating, trembling, anxiety, fainting, irritability and lethargy.
Low blood sugar can be increasedas a result of eating. After a person eats, the pancreas will start to produce insulin, so the amount of sugar in the blood will increase. But it also happens that there is an excessive release of hormones, after which the level of glucose in the blood becomes too low.
Low blood sugar is often observed in people, patients with diabetes, which they increase by eating something sweet. In healthy people, this happens less often, and the process proceeds in a softer form. However, there are exceptions. With an unaccustomed diet, even a healthy person who does not suffer from diabetes mellitus may develop hyperglycemia.
Causes of the disease.
The main causes of low blood sugar:
-Larger breaks in eating. Reduced blood sugar will appear, if after a few hours after a meager meal, all the energy of the body will be exhausted.
-Low calorie diet. It is manifested when little glucose enters the body together with food, and the blood sugar level decreases after it is digested.
-Intensive exercise. As a result of long training, all glucose in the body can be exhausted. In this case, there will be symptoms of glycemia, and it will be difficult to train further. To avoid this, athletes consume carbohydrate-rich foods before and after training.
-Excessive consumption of sweet. If a person consumes something sweet or floury, this causes a sharp rise in insulin in the blood, followed by a decrease in the level of glucose. Due to the use, for example, of a box of chocolates, a person will receive a high dose of serotonin (a pleasure hormone), but after that drowsiness, fatigue, weakness may arise, and he again wants to eat something sweet.
-Using alcohol and strongly carbonatedbeverages. Drinks in which there is a high sugar content, can contribute to a rapid increase in its quantity in the blood. Alcohol, drunk on an empty stomach - the same sugar, and has the same consequences.
Symptomatology of the disease.
Low sugar in the blood is manifested in manySymptoms, for example, copious sweating, tingling of fingers and lips, pallor, a constant feeling of hunger, palpitations, muscle weakness, shivering, fatigue. If this affects the nervous system, then there may be: pain in the head, doubling and blurring of vision, rapid yawning, spastic muscle contraction.
In addition, there is a psychicsymptomatology, which manifests itself as low blood sugar. There are depressions, insomnia at night, a nap in the afternoon, as well as irritability. Often other diagnoses are placed instead of glycemia, for example, neurosis or depression, since it has a common symptomatology, the most dominant is the anxiety reaction.
To avoid a rapid drop in blood sugar, there are several simple rules:
Try to lower the intake of caffeine, since low blood sugar is caused by increased insulin.
No smoking. Smoking interferes with the normal production of sugar in the blood. So it's better to refuse such a bad habit.
Consume foods that contain chromium, as they help to regulate blood sugar levels.
The right diet and lifestyle, will help every person to maintain their health for many years. Be attentive to your condition and well-being.
