early years

Born Mateo Kovacic in the family of Croatsof Bosnian origin. In 1991, his parents moved to Austria, and three years later the future well-known football player appeared. He started playing very early, and he became a football player under the name "LASK" to study football. There he spent seven years. But at the age of 13, the young midfielder was in the realm of interests of clubs like Ajax, Stuttgart, Juventus and Bayern. However, to continue his career in one of the famous clubs Mateo failed, because his parents decided to move to Zagreb. So the midfielder had to continue his football activities there, in FC Dynamo.
