Matuidi was born on April 9, 1987 in France infamily of Angolan immigrants. In six years he joined the football academy of a small club "Fontenay". There he spent five years until in 1998 he moved to another club, "Vincennes". At the new location, he stayed for another three years, in 2000, enrolled in a prestigious football school called "Clerfontaine." While the young talent was engaged there, he moved to the base of the club "Créteil", for which he played at the youth level for three years. And only in 2004 he entered the system of the professional club "Troyes", speaking in the second division. A year later, Blaise Mathewi concluded a professional agreement with the club, having already played two games for the main team at the age of seventeen. In "Troyes" midfielder spent two more years as a professional player, going on the field 66 times and scoring four goals. Then it was noticed by the large French club "Saint-Etienne", which in 2007 paid five million euro for a young talent.

Going to Saint-Etienne

Footballer Blaise Mathewi was definitelytalented, but at that time no one believed that he would fly to great heights. A club like "Saint-Etienne" was considered to be the limit for him - and the midfielder was glad that he moved there. Already from the first season he became the player of the base, having spent 37 matches in the T-shirt of the new club. In total, Matuidi played for Saint-Etienne for four years, and during this time he appeared on the field 154 times in all tournaments, including 9 matches in Eurocups.
