On the origin of the name

The name of the Nurgush ridge in translation has a beautifulvalue. He received the name from two Bashkir words: "Noor", which translates as "radiance", "light" or "splendor"; "Kush" or "kosh", translated as "bird." Together, this means "a radiant and shining bird".

Nurgush Range

Most likely, the view of this magnificent mountainthe ridge caused associations with the bird shining at altitude. Many see in the outlines of the slopes something like a flying bird flashing in the sun. And the epithet of the radiance is explained by the sparkling of quartzites in the sun.

Local residents connect "Nur" with the surrounding mountains of Nurgush flying lights, the origin of which they do not know anything.
