Siena: sights of the Italian town

The fortress of the Medici was built in 1563architect Lanci on the orders of Cosimo de 'Medici. Its main task was to discourage the assertion of independence, to which Siena aspired so much. Sights of this place are in a beautiful city garden, in which the fortress was transformed. From the building there is a picturesque panorama of the surroundings. Today, temporary exhibitions are often held in the fortress. There is also a library and an audio archive.
