The cable car in Kharkov: description
The cable car in the city of Kharkov isthe oldest amusement park attraction. It is a walking and transport system that connects Sumskaya Street (the area of the Park cinema and the FED plant) with the Pavlovo Pole microdistrict. The path passes through the park named after Gorky and Sarzhin yar.
The history of the cableway
In the late 1960s the city began to swiftlyTo develop, in the north of Kharkov several production and scientific research organizations were opened. Of course, there was a need to create a fast and convenient transport for the transportation of passengers from Sumskaya Street to Pavlovo Field. As a result, taking into account the routing, it was decided to create a cable car.
The cable car was put into operation at the beginning70-ies of the XX century. Immediately after commissioning, it was used not only as a walking system, but also as a transport system. Derevianko Street was not yet extended to Sokolniki, and there was no metro station, as such, on Pavlovo Pole. Thus, with the help of the ropeway movement in Kharkov, a large number of workers in the shortest time got to KhAZ and FED from Pavlov's Field to work. For such a category of people, there were travel and discount tickets.

For the simple reason that it was more convenient and quicker for them to get from the hostels located on Pavlovo Pole to educational institutions with the help of a cable car than on any other type of transport. In the summer of 2012, the reconstruction andoverhaul of the cable car: replacement of 3 km of the cable, moving parts, painting of the cabins and painting were repaired. The attraction resumed its work from the beginning of August.
Another global reconstruction of the cable caroccurred in the spring of 2014. For the first time for the existence of the attraction, the cabins were exchanged for new ones, identical to those used in Yalta. New cabins were manufactured in the Dnieper. They are 20% heavier than the previous, made of fiberglass, in red, yellow, blue and green. The station "Park" was also renovated.
The cable car in Kharkov
By length, the route of the cable car between twolanding stations "Park Gorky" and "Pavlovo Pole" has about 1385 meters. During the movement, double cabins pass over Sargin Yar, from where you can see the colorful panorama that opens onto one of the oldest districts of the city and the source of the mineral table water "Kharkivskaya No. 1". On the slopes of Yar is the Botanical Garden.

In time, the one-way route takes 18minutes, during which passengers can admire the scenic view of the green massifs of the park. The price of a ropeway in Kharkov as of September is 30 UAH. Payment is made on the spot.
Children under the age of 14 are allowed to visit the attraction only when accompanied by adults. Children up to 110 cm can enjoy the attraction for free.

Interesting information about the cable car
About 10 years ago in the course of an advertising campaignmobile operator "Beeline" a large number of booths were painted in a horizontal strip of yellow-black color (which resembled the appearance of the Beeline bee). On the other booths an image of various objects with the appropriate color was applied. Such booths existed for 3 years.
In April 2016, the cable car was damaged. Evacuation of passengers stuck over the swamp took place within 3 hours, since it was impossible to bring ladders to hard-to-reach places.
A year ago, in September 2016, according to the British popular newspaper The Guardian, the Kharkov cable car was on the list of the 10 best lifts around the world.
