Allegedly this officer from the family of diplomats did not have enough money to realize his grandiose plan. Then he persuaded the Danish King Christian Eighth to allocate the land specifically for the park and release it from taxes for the first years. He told him that this could save the country from the revolution, because when people have fun, they are not engaged in politics. The monarch agreed, provided that in the gardens there will be "nothing obscene". True, a few years later, the Danes still forced the king to adopt the Constitution, but the park was already built. Its name comes from the same garden in Paris. In the beginning it was just a park for a walk, where orchestras, ladies and gentlemen played ceremoniously along the paths, and artists performed on the stages. And in the beginning of the twentieth century, they began to build attractions for children. Now, almost every year, add some new entertainment.
