Summary of Bunin's "Figures" by chapters
The story is written in the form of an adult confessionmen in front of a little boy. Once upon a time, the author experienced a serious quarrel with his nephew, Zhenya. In this work he addresses precisely to him, trying to explain to the boy, and to himself why he behaved this way at that moment.
The author calls the boy a joker who, withouttired from morning till night screaming and running around all the rooms. But the more touching to him, to an adult man, those moments are seen when a child, having calmed down, clings to him, or when he kisses him impetuously after reconciliation. By the evening the boy apologized to his uncle and asked him to show him the figures. Since morning the kid has become fired with desire that to it have bought a pencil case, color pencils, have written out children's magazine. But my uncle did not feel like going to the city to buy all this. He said that today is the royal day, everything is closed. Then the boy asked at least figures to show.
Perhaps the kid will not remember when he grows up, as he once left the dining room with a very sad face after an argument with his uncle.

In the evening, the restless Zhenya came up with a new game: bounce and at the same time sonorous screaming in time. Mom and grandmother tried to stop him, but he did not react. Darcy responded to the remark of his uncle. He could hardly restrain himself from flushing. But after another jump and scream, my uncle broke loose, yelled at the boy, grabbed his arm, slapped and pushed him out of the room.
From pain and insult Zhenya started yelling at the door. At first with pauses, then without stopping and with sobbing. Then he began to just play with feelings, call.
