What should the report contain to the thesis?

The final stage of training in higher educationinstitution is the delivery of final qualification work (thesis project). Within its framework, studies are conducted on a given topic, specific tasks aimed at confirming the acquired knowledge are being solved. The project consists of several parts: theoretical, analytical and practical. An important element is the report to the thesis work, without which its protection is impossible. The quality of this part largely depends on the evaluation, the perception of the research done.

The report to the thesis is based on the standardscheme, according to the generally accepted structure. It reflects the essence and main parts of the project. The speech to the thesis begins with a reference to the attesting: "Dear chairman of the commission, dear members of the commission! Allow me to present my thesis on the subject ...! ". After this greeting, the report is structured according to the following scheme:

- the relevance of the topic of the project or its scientific interest (for example, in the case of providing work on ancient history, which is not relevant, but interesting from a scientific point of view);

- object and subject of research;

- the purpose of the diploma;

- assigned tasks, which must be disclosed to achieve the project goal;

- The structure of the work: from which chapters it consists, their number;

- methodological and information sources of research.

To do this, you should tell what works were done in the first chapter (you can also indicate its name) and the conclusions made on its information. Then the narrative of the subsequent parts of the thesis project is similar.

After recounting the main points outlined in thechapters, it is necessary to take stock. In this case, the report to the thesis can be formulated on the basis of the conclusion of the project, or simply state it without changing it. The final part should consist of replies to the previously mentioned tasks, a general conclusion on the whole project, conclusions on the achievement of the stated goal of the diploma. They should be printed out in several copies and distributed to the members of the commission. Some diploma projects require the development of drawings, any planning, design of objects.
