However, as they say, exceptions confirm the rules. There are such species, the bite of which for a person can be fatal. But still, the vast majority of snake-eating snakes that produce venom, or do not have developed poisonous teeth, or something similar to such a tooth is located in the depths of the mouth, which makes it difficult to introduce their poison into the human body.

Where and how live the snakes

Almost 30 species live in our country. Of these, the most common is, of course, ordinary. This snake is common not only in Russia, but also practically throughout Europe, North Africa and Asia. She chooses wet places: lakes, ponds, grassy marshes, and sometimes mountains and open steppes. Ordinary diners are active during the daytime, at night they hide in shelters. The time for hunting these snakes is morning and evening. They mate in late April - May, and in July the female lays up to 30 eggs. Vipers, just hatched, already have a length of 15 centimeters and immediately embark on an independent life.

His brother - a water brother - lives only in the southour country, because it is very thermophilic. Its external difference from ordinary horror is ribbed scales and the absence of yellow spots on the edges of the head. This snake is brown, greenish or gray with specks scattered on the back and sides. The eyes of the water horror, as well as its nostrils are directed upwards. As the name implies, these snakes live in water bodies, both with fresh water and with salt water. They are excellent divers. Eat mostly different medium-sized fish.

Man is the main enemy of horror. A lot of these snakes are killed at the hands of people. This is because we do not know how to distinguish poisonous snakes (for example, vipers) from harmless snakes, to which they belong, so we act for sure - we kill innocuous representatives. Remember that eating in a house is not at all dangerous. Bright orange spots located on the back of the head, as well as fairly large shields and a graceful body, clearly distinguish horror from the massive viper. On the head of a viper there are no such spots, but it is covered with small scales.
