Biathlonist Liv-Grete Poiret: biography, personal life and achievements
Biathlon is a winter sport that combinesa ski race and accurate rifle shooting on targets. Athletes who engage in biathlon must have good health and endurance, few suffer the stress associated with constant training in sub-zero temperatures. But Liv-Grete Poire (maiden name Shelbreid) not only could overcome all the difficulties, but also achieved tremendous results in this sport. She won several champion titles and brought her team a lot of gold and silver medals, has several personal records.
Childhood and youth
Born Liv-Grete on July 7, 1974 in the ordinaryNorwegian family of farmers in a village near the city of Bergen. She was the youngest of the three sisters. Girls - Ann-Helen, Linda-Christine and Liv-Grete - grew very friendly, everyone was fond of sports. Liv played football well, rowed in a kayak and went skiing. A little later, Anne-Ellen's older sister took her to biathlon.
The heroine of our article proved to be very capable anda persistent girl, and soon she was noticed by professionals and invited to a sports school in Geilo. Young athlete under the guidance of coach Odda Lirhus quickly improved.

First performance
At 18, the girl first appeared in the Championshippeace, but unsuccessful. It is worthy of respect that the defeat did not break the Norwegian, but only confirmed in the desire to work hard and reach sports peaks. Which she succeeded.
Achievements and awards
Liv-Grete Puare became a biathlon legend. Already in 1997 she achieved serious success: she became a three-time champion of Norway, a world champion in the national team of her country and took a silver medal in the relay race in Osrbli.
In 1998, at the Olympic Games athletewon bronze in the women's team and won four times in competitions in Norway. This season, she finished in fifth place in the overall standings of the World Cup.
Zero year brought the biathlonist many trials: she poisoned herself with stale chicken and fell seriously ill. Doctors unanimously spoke about the need to complete a career, but she overcame everything. Contrary to forecasts, the athlete won two gold medals at the World Championships in Oslo, performing best in the mass start and sprint. In her interviews the girl always says that 2000 left the best memories.
In 2002 biathlete Liv-Grett Poiret became twice the second at the Olympics in Salt Lake City. These silver medals are her main pride, given strong opponents and weather conditions.
In the season 2003-2004, the famous Norwegian was extremely pleased with her fans and coach, having won 7 big wins in 9 World Cup stages.

Love story
The world of baitlon is small, and Liv Shelbred oftencrossed with the French athlete Rafael Poiret. As the girl recalls, he gave her attention signs, invited him to dinner, but she did not take it as sympathy. In 1996, at the championship in German Ruhpolding, their mutual friend told Liv that Rafael was in love with her, and the sportswoman admitted that she had long been interested in a nice young man. Raphael and Liv began to meet, although they carefully concealed their romance from prying eyes.
For 4 years they tested their feelings, living underone roof in a small one-room apartment in France, training together and making trips to the competitions. And in May 2000, Rafael made a favorite offer, and they married in a church in a village where Liv grew up. Now she became Liv-Grete Poire.
A family
The young people lived together. After the marriage, their life has not changed much - the same trainings, trips, competitions and travel around the world in their spare time. They really wanted children, and soon their dream came true: in January 2003, the couple had a daughter, Emma.
Liv-Gret Poiret, whose personal life was in the foreground, completely immersed herself in motherhood. Raphael was always there and put his shoulder in a difficult moment.
After leaving the sport in 2006, Liv again became pregnant, and in January 2007 gave birth to a second daughter, who was named Anna. Just one year later, in October 2008, another baby was born in the family - Lena.
It seemed that there would be no end to happiness.
Loud divorce
From the side the family was exemplary: loving parents spent all their free time together with adorable daughters, the spouses organized their own business, everywhere they were seen together. And then, like a bolt from the blue, news broke about the impending divorce. This news really shocked the fans of Liv and Raphael, many even asked them to save the family, which was in their eyes the standard of happiness. Such appeals very upset Liv-Grett Poiret. She experienced a divorce heavily and still does not comment on this. For the sake of the children, the former spouses kept friendly relations.
After parting in 2013, Rafael began to meet with the Norwegian Anne Tunes, they recently announced and the upcoming wedding. Tunes has three children from previous marriages.
