The Great Simaginskoye Lake is a place for rest and fishing

Historical events
Large Lake Simaginskoe for some ishistorical value, since in the summer of 1917 Lenin was hiding in his vicinity. He took refuge in the village of Yalkala, on the north-western side of the pond. In the Soviet years, there was organized a memorial museum of Lenin, which in 1993 became a museum-reserve called "Yalkala."
On the banks of the northern side of the lake there is the village of Il'ichevo. At this point the State Hydrological Institute in the 1950s arranged its experimental base.
