A campaign is what?

What is a campaign? We often meet this word, used on the pages of newspapers and magazines, Internet portals and TV screens. But, interestingly, this term is always used in different contexts. And sometimes it's not so easy to figure out what it really means. It turns out that the campaign is one of the multi-terms, which contains several concepts at once. And they can relate to the most diverse spheres of social, political, cultural and economic life. At the same time, perhaps, it is possible to single out

certain common features of these concepts, calledin a word, and give a general definition: a campaign is a set of interrelated actions aimed at achieving a certain result. Now we are convinced of this.

Information campaign

For example, this event impliesa set of measures to agitate the population (or another community of people) in order to bring to him the necessary knowledge or to inspire the public with any opinion. Such a set of measures can be advertising, promoting a certain product on the market. It is, of course, not limited to simple video clips or street posters appealing to the consumer to buy exactly this cookie or detergent powder. No, the advertising campaign is a carefully designed marketing strategy, during which the consumer's preferences, peculiarities of his behavior, peculiarities of the national market and the legislative system in the country are clarified. Preliminary processing of so-called target groups (actually, those on whose demand advertisers count) is carried out. However, a campaign is not always a pursuit of purely commercial goals. Information activities can also be on the part of the state in the form of, for example, social advertising, which is

a sign of the state's concern for growthwelfare, well-being of the people, national health, cleanliness of streets and so on. The election campaign is a kind of synthesis of the state and public, where several political forces conduct a limited time conviction of the general public that they are worthy to take seats in the apparatus of state administration, and it is their program that will ensure the most effective achievement of the interests of the state and the population.

Of course, you could not avoid meeting such concepts,as the "Chechen campaign" or "Napoleonic campaign". Indeed, this concept is often used in relation to military actions. Here it also implies a set of certain consistent and interrelated measures, but they are directed not at propagandistic impact on the population, but on achieving superiority over the enemy's army. This is achieved by taking advantage of advantageous territories, physical destruction of enemy forces and so on.

Moreover, the campaign is not always connected with thecertain actions of people. So, the Campania is called the region in Italy and a small asteroid located in the Solar system behind Mars. The same name has a period of operation of the nuclear reactor, which it provides after a single loading of nuclear fuel.
