Of great interest are rare, and sometimes unique technical documents, drawings and diagrams. And on air trainers, classes are held to train modern pilots.

The most interesting exhibits

The Tu-116 aircraft, board number 76462, was releasedespecially for NS Khrushchev in 1957. The bort was developed on the basis of a bomber and was issued in two copies. Today one of them is exhibited in Ulyanovsk.

Supersonic "Tu-144" is unique in that fromseveral serial copies, only two were engaged in passenger transportation and performed civil flights. One of them, under No. 77110, can be seen at the airfield of Brateevo (Ulyanovsk). The Civil Aviation Museum has one of the rarest aircraft - the first in the world bomber "ANT-4", designed as a monoplane. It was released in 1929. It was on him that the historic flight of the USSR-the USA-was accomplished.

The "Tu-104" liner occupies a special place in the museum exposition. The first flight on it was made back in 1955, at that time he became the first in the world and the only supersonic civilian aircraft.

Creating a museum

The complex began work not so long ago - the first guestsvisited the exhibition of aircraft in 1983. Since that time the museum has considerably enriched its exposition, most of the exhibits have arrived to the exhibition site on their own after the full end of the flying resource. Immediately at the museum was created a scientific and training complex, where a documentary exhibition and flight simulators for training cadets.

The first exhibit was the Mi-1 helicopter, developed in 1948. Almost 50 world records were established on the speed, accuracy and range of flights.

The Museum of Civil Aviation History (Ulyanovsk) became part of the Association of Technical Museums of Russia, and in 1989 received the deserved title of the National Museum.

The nine most valuable exhibits of the museum were recognized as monuments of science and technology.

Modernity and development

The content of such a unique technical collection- the case is complicated, troublesome and expensive. A simple painting of one aircraft costs hundreds of thousands of rubles, if you comply with all the rules and technologies, that is, to restore the protective layer in the hangars, the cost of work increases several times. Restoring the interior is even more difficult. Many technical details need to be re-made, developed and installed under certain models and conditions.

Negotiations are currently under way with the Moscow Aviation Museum on the transportation of a rare Il-14 to Ulyanovsk. The Museum of Civil Aviation constantly makes every effort to ensure that the unique collection looked dignified and constantly updated.
