Vitebsk region is famous for its lakes, which are attractive for lovers of fishing and recreation. These ponds are considered one of the main attractions of this region.
White Lake
White Lake is in the river basinCharnagossnica, a few kilometers from the town of Beshenkovichi. The area of the water mirror is 1.49 km², and the maximum depth is slightly more than 12 m. The western coasts are steep and high (about 20 m), the eastern reaches up to three meters. The bottom is sandy. The white lake is swamped in the northern and southern parts.
On the western side of the reservoir is an extensivea forest massif in which, despite marshiness, bilberry, cranberry, cowberry and mushrooms are abundantly growing. In addition, the banks of the lake are overgrown with tall grass and rare shrubs. Here there are meadows and arable land. Among other species, common burial grow here, which is listed in the Red Book of the Republic of Belarus. Officially, underwater hunting is allowed here, but only during the daytime. On the coast there are 3 villages: Gorodets, Maly Pavlovici, Zabel.
City
In the Vitebsk region is located the Gorodno Lake. It is located in the basin of the Luchos River, a few kilometers from Vitebsk. The area of the water mirror is 0.87 km ², and the depth is on average 4 m, the largest is 8 m. This pond is rich in nutrients and plankton. Because of the abundance of the latter, the water is not very clear. In summer the surface of the lake is well warmed up.
At the bottom of the pond, sand is sanded, anddeeper plots - silt. Despite the fact that the lake was sometimes contaminated by nearby plants and factories, Gorodno is popular with fishermen. It is inhabited by river predators. This feature is different and other lakes of the Vitebsk region. Most often there are carp, burbot, pike, bream. On the banks grow reeds and reeds.
On the coast there are 3 villages: Gorodnyansky Mos, Sosnovka, Gorodnyany. In addition to them in this area is the sanatorium "Sosnovka". Therefore the second unofficial name of the lake is Sosnovka.
Lake Serdovo
