Burning discs with the built-in tools of the Windows 7 operating system
So, what should I do to "burn" an empty media?
Select all the files in the explorer that you want to record. Right-click on the selected files to bring up the context menu, select "Send" - "DVD-drive".
After the performed actions the system will createA special temporary folder where these files will be placed. In Windows 7, recording discs is much easier, because the operating system does not need to search for files on the entire hard drive, and you do not need to collect all the necessary files and folders in one place.
After you select all the necessary files, insert a blank CD, DVD or Blu-ray disc into your computer's recording drive, depending on the characteristics of which you can use some kind of laser media. In Explorer, double-click on the DVD drive. At the top of the dialog box, find the "Burn files to disk" button. To record discs Windows 7 offers two ways: use the future optical media as a flash drive or with a DVD player. Conveniently, that immediately describes the description of each method. If you are going to use the disk only with computers on which the Windows operating system is installed, then the first option will work for you, otherwise choose the second one. After clicking the "Next" button, you will see how the system formats the disk, that is, it completely clears and prepares it for the record, which takes a while.
After the recording process is completed (this iswill be the LFS file system, in the case of a pre-selected record as a flash drive), it's worth closing the disk session so that it will open normally on other computers. Microsoft provided this operation automatically when extracting electronic media from a DVD drive, but it would be much more reliable if you did this manually with a simple instruction:
- Click the left mouse button once on the device icon on which the discs were recorded.
- On the toolbar is the "Close Session" button, which you must click.
- Wait a bit.
It may happen that you forgot to producethe above procedure, in this case, do not be nervous. You can close the session on another computer before using it. Be sure to remember that to close the session you need about 20 MB of space on a recordable CD or DVD.
Windows Explorer does not provide anyextended control over the information, nevertheless this is a standard tool that will give you the opportunity to quickly "burn" the optical media without unnecessary problems. To burn discs with advanced parameters, use programs like Nero or ImgBurn.
