Post-hardcore bands: the history of the creation of the genre, famous performers

Post-hardcore bands appeared in the middlethe eighties of the last century. This offshoot of punk rock music has become one of the most popular among the young people of modern times. For several decades the musical direction has developed into a whole subculture with its own unspoken rules.

Origin

The first post-hardcore bands appeared onterritory of the United States of America in the eighties. The pioneers of this genre are the "Fuji" and "Javbox", which were the first to reject the "classical" hardcore settings. To the heavy music and high vocal added modern electronic motifs. Also, screaming was used for the first time along with pure vocal. The musicians masterfully combined the styles of different punk scenes. At the same time, the theme of the songs was quite serious.

Sound

Dynamic sound replaced the simple scream and heavy chords. Music has become rhythmic, while not losing its frenzied energy, so characteristic of hardcore.

After the success of the famous "Nirvana", more and morepost-hardcore bands began to record their records. "Big Black" and "Shellak" brought in the direction of new trends in noise rock. The loud vocals, turning into a scream, alternated with quiet screaking, which created a truly wild atmosphere at the concerts. Fans of post-hardcore often belonged to already existing subcultural groups. Therefore, the external attributes of the groups were also filled with nonconformist motives.

"Dag Nesti" and "Embrace" spread unspokenrules for all post-hardcore performers. Considering themselves as indie musicians, they categorically deny all major labels. Concerts are most often held in abandoned warehouses or at various festivals. Price is extremely low. In the early nineties such meetings became a real problem for the US authorities. Drunken youth, heated with dynamic music, often got involved in various troubles. Therefore gradually festivals of post-hardcore bands began to be taken under the close attention of law enforcement bodies.

Groups like Folow Ocean, Cold Streets and Sekret Aveik have thousands of fans in the post-Soviet space.
