Biography
Baklanov Gregory was born in Voronezh in1923, on the 11th of September. Comes from a Jewish family. My father's name was Yakov Minayevich. He was an employee. My mother's name was Ida Grigorievna, she was a dentist. After the death of the parents of the Baklanov, Gregory was brought up by his uncle's family. After graduating from the 9th grade, he entered the aviation technical school. After the war began, he worked at the aircraft factory as a mechanic. The enterprise produced attack planes Il-2. For participation in the December battles of 1944 under Székesfehérvár he was awarded the Order of the Red Star. Also awarded with medals for the capture of Vienna and Budapest. He received the Order of the Patriotic War.
By January 1945, he became a lieutenant, commander of a fire platoon of 1232 artillery regiments, and 115 Krivoy Rog brigades. He finished the war in the rank of chief of intelligence in the artillery division.
The writer recalled that when he was from the frontHe returned home, he was only 21 years old. At that moment, he felt that the main thing in his life was done. According to him, he felt incredible ease. Gregory did not want to make any career and he did not care what would happen next. However, in 1951 he graduated from the Literary Institute named after Gorky. Soon he began to publish. On the pages of the magazine "Peasant Woman" there was a story "A reprimand". In 1956, he was accepted into the Union of Writers of the USSR.
The first stories devoted to the theme of war are "The Spanland "and" South of the main blow "- brought the writer fame, but were criticized. He describes the destruction of the officer corps in the Red Army by Stalin.
