A family
Nadezhda Karataeva is an actress who managed to becomeknown in two epochs: under the Soviet Union and already in the new Russia. She was born in Moscow, on the twenty-fifth of January 1924. Acting in her case is not a continuation of the patriotic skill - her family had nothing to do with the art world. Father of Hope was a military man, and his mother worked in the research institute. But Karataeva since childhood gravitated toward the theater and even in her school years went to the drama circle.
Hope has a daughter Elena, who was born in 1954. She followed in the footsteps of her parents and became a famous actress of the Moscow Drama Theater. Ermolova.
Study
Hope, like many, graduated from the usual averageschool. But then she nevertheless realized her passion for the theater and entered GITIS into the acting department. The Great Patriotic War changed many lives and plans of an incredible number of people. Nadezhda Karataeva, whose biography includes both the war years, also fell under its influence. About the further study it was necessary to forget for a while. Hope went to the front as a nurse, worked for a while in hospitals.
As mentioned above, she studied quite a bit. Only in 1946, Nadezhda finally managed to graduate from the institute. Then began her theatrical career.
Front years

In Novosibirsk, Nadezhda enrolled in the course of nurses and after their graduation was asked to go to the front. She worked in military hospitals, and then in an ambulance train shuttling between Moscow and Chita. On these convoys were taken to the rear of the wounded. Hope not only carried food, but also looked after the soldiers. She did injections and dressings, read the wounded poems and leaflets, helped to strengthen morale.
Fateful acquaintance
Towards the end of the war, GITIS finallyclasses were resumed, and Nadezhda returned to the university to finish her studies. She was commissioned, and she again found herself in the world she had been striving since childhood. It was at the institute that she met Anatoly Papanov, who later became her husband. He came to the university from the front, where he was commissioned for health reasons.
Papanov was offered to start studying right from the secondcourse. Men were not enough, and the girls needed to play sketches with partners. So he was in the same group as Nadezhda. They married Papanov on May 20, 1945.
At first Papanov walked with a wand, sinceHe was shattered heel and a German grenade tore off two fingers on his leg. But for Hope, the soul was the main thing, and not the appearance. Their romance spun when they went to the same tram stop, talked and recognized each other better. They were united not only by art, but also by the fact that Nadezhda Karataeva, like her husband, was at the front. Many of her classmates did not have such a life experience.
Nadezhda Karataeva, whose photo is in thisarticle, was a very beautiful girl in her youth. Many children looked after her. One of the contenders for her hand was Voroshilov's nephew himself. But Nadezhda preferred Papanova to everyone. She introduced her future husband to her mother, who did not approve of his candidacy and complained that he was ugly. Hope with ardor stood up for a loved one, saying that he is a wonderful artist and beautiful soul. At this point the dispute was over.
They lived together for 43 years. There were also hungry post-war times. The young were helped by the parents of Hope. Hope immediately decided to give leadership in the family of Papanov and spent a lot of time devoted to the family, putting it always in the first place. Nevertheless, the woman always found time for her career. All forty-three years of marriage they were interested in each other. Love of Hope and Anatoly was so strong that they could go through all the hardships of life and keep a happy marriage for years to come.
