Born poet and musician in the city of Yekaterinburg(Sverdlovsk) on June 7, 1938 in the family of an opera singer-tenor and ballerina. Father (Dolsky Alexander Viktorovich) was a soloist of the Sverdlovsk Opera and Ballet Theater, her mother - a graduate of the Leningrad Vaganova School of Choreography.

At that time, music was his hobby, and the future poet began his working career in the repair shop of the Uralelectroapparat factory, where he worked as a toolmaker for two years (1956-1958).

Then twenty-year-old Alexander Dolsky entered the Sverdlovsk Polytechnic Institute for the Faculty of Construction. At the end of the course he became a graduate student of the engineering and economic department.

In 1979, Dolsky finally made a choice in favor of the song and music genre. In the same year, he was invited to work in his "Theater of Miniatures" Arkady Raikin.

Dolsky Alexander is married. His wife's name is Dolsky Nadezhda Alexandrovna. There are three adult sons: Peter, Alexander and Paul. Currently, the family lives in St. Petersburg.

The poet is fond of painting. From time to time in the city there are exhibitions where art canvases written by his hand are demonstrated. The paintings look as if they were made by a professional artist.
