Some melodies and poems seem to beeternal. And how else to explain that they are happy to listen to in different times? And we are not talking at all about classical instrumental works written by brilliant composers. Informal music in the USSR and Russia has always been original, and was often not recognized as official figures of culture and show business. However, despite this fact, the performers of the genres "rock" and "metal" have always had enough fans. The group "Master" is one of the legends of the Russian informal scene. It is striking that the collective, founded in 1987, continues to tour and remain popular in our days.
The difficult history of creation
"Master" is a group often compared with at leastknown collective "Aria". And this is not accidental. Originally there was a group "Aria", performing songs in the genre Heavy Metal, under the auspices of producer V.Ya. Vekstejn. In 1986, there was a quarrel between the artistic director and the musicians. After it, bass guitarist Alik Granovsky proposed to stop working with Vekshtein and begin to speak independently. The idea was supported by the team, but at the very last moment two members of the group refused to go into obscurity: Vladimir Holstinin and Valery Kipelov. The rest - Alik Granovsky, Igor Molchanov, Andrei Bolshakov and Kirill Pokrovsky - left the collective. To use the old name "Aria" the departed musicians had no right, and then they decided that henceforth they would be called - the group "Master".
The first years and English-speaking creativity
The created group brought together talented peoplemusicians, but there was a problem - the vocalist was not in the composition. New members of the band were singer Alexander Arzamaskov and guitarist Sergei Popov. However, soon I had to change the vocalist. Tried himself in this role, Grigory Korneyev, but he quickly ripped off his voice. After that Mikhail Seryshev came to the group. It was with his appearance that the collective gained a permanent guitarist. In 1987, the first album entitled "Master" was released. Its circulation was more than a million copies and was successfully implemented. After that, the first foreign tour of the band took place, and then, in 1989, the second album was released - "With a noose around my neck". Then the group "Master" moves to Belgium. The musicians were supposed to record an English-language album, but due to the bankruptcy of the label, it was released later in Russia. In 1993, the team acquired a new drummer - Tony Shender and guitarist - Vyacheslav Sidorov, but at the same time the group leaves Andrei Bolshakov. Two albums were created and recorded: "Talk Of The Devil" and "Maniac Party". Both consist entirely of songs performed in English.

In 1994, the collective finally returns to theRussia. However, over the past time, the public interest in the group's work has faded, and English-language albums do not like Russian listeners. At this stage creative experiments and cooperation with musicians of "Aria" begin. Then the album "Songs of the Dead" comes out, after which the group "Master" again goes on foreign tours. The composition of the team is changing, Oleg Milovanov and Leonid Fomin are becoming the new participants, Mikhail Seryshev is returning for a while. In 1999, the album "Labyrinth" was released and met with varying success.
Modern history of the "Master"
Beginning 2000 the group meets the next changecomposition. Beginners in the team are: Alexei Strike, Lexx (Alexei Kravchenko) and Alexander Karpukhin. In 2004, the album "33 lives", in 2005 - "Acoustics", in 2006 - "On the other side of sleep." And in 2007, the rock band "Master" celebrates its twentieth anniversary. In the jubilee concert, many former members of the collective and friends of musicians take part. In 2008, Alexander Karpukhin and Alexei Straik leave the group. Their places are occupied by Oleg Khovrin, Andrei Smirnov, and then Leonid Fomin returns. Today "Master" is a group of average popularity, which is still often compared with "Aria". The collective continues to tour, participates in many major festivals of heavy music. It is noteworthy that among the fans of the group there are quite mature mature people who have become acquainted with the work of the "Master" even in their youth, and modern teenagers. That's it, music, bringing together the generation, and does not lose its relevance for decades.
