Needlework: the fundamentals of crochet
One of the favorite types of pastimeelderly people, mostly of course women, is knitting. And absolutely it does not matter, with needles or crochet. Nevertheless, this does not mean that such an occupation is only suitable for grandmothers. On the contrary, in recent years more and more often you can meet quite young women who are ardent admirers of this variety of needlework. A little surprising is that a considerable number of male representatives tend to learn the basics of crochet.
The history of crochet rooted inthe distant past. The first mention of this kind of art was recorded at the beginning of the XIX century. True, there are also some knitted canvases created much earlier, but, unfortunately, there is not a single specimen that confirms crochet by crochet. In general, the time of appearance of crochet as such is quite a controversial issue in science. One thing is for sure known - the first published book, containing the basics of crocheting Irish lace, was released by Mademoiselle Riego de Blancardier in 1846. By the way, this lady is considered the progenitor of this kind of needlework. With the passage of time, the patterns improved and became more complicated, but this did not lose their appeal. In Russia, crocheting began its existence at the end of the XIX century, taking mainly the form of lace, patterns for which were extracted from folk motifs of embroidery and weaving.
Irish lace, also called guipure orBrussels lace, are separate elements, which later were assembled into a single product. You can also create a thing using a simple short hook, a long hook (Tunisian knitting), or a hook with an additional special fork. By the way knitting is divided into two types: circular and flat. The basics of crocheting along a circle assume a consistent rise of each row, without any twists and turns. This technology can be compared with a spiral staircase. As a result of this method, a round or cylindrical product is formed. For example, it can be all sorts of napkins, potholders of round or oval shape, caps, and in this way sleeves are performed. Using a flat method, the direction can only be forward, suggesting that the canvas is flipped at the end of the row to the other side, with simultaneous banding of the so-called lifting loops. Square napkins, blankets, scarves and many other things can be knit in this way. Products of cylindrical shape are also likely with this performance, but in them, unlike circular knitting, there will always be a suture.
The basics of crochet determine the rightretention of the working thread: the thumb and index finger on the left hand, placed at an angle of about 90 degrees. The hook, as a rule, is held by the right hand, as well as the pen when writing, that is, the thumb and forefinger, relying on the middle one. Although another position is not forbidden, for example, to hold the instrument with the same fingers, with the difference that it is covered with a hand. In this position, the end of the hook also adheres to the little finger. The basic methods of crocheting are fairly simple and everyone can learn them. You just need to learn the basic execution of loops that make up the pattern. If there is a good fantasy, then the schemes can be made independently, otherwise there is a huge number of ready-made schemes, both the simplest, and rather complex, intended for the professional master. But also such products are not unattainable - a little perseverance and attention will speed up the process.
