The basis for the drink is rye bread or biscuits. Ideally, they should also be made on their own, so before you make homemade bread kvass, you will have to thoroughly prepare. So, before making bread kvass at home, prepare the rusks by cutting the loaf with slices and drying it in the oven. Wait until the crust is browned, then the drink will acquire a special golden tint. Pour the rusks with boiling water. Densely cover and let it brew for about four hours. Pay attention to the right dishes: only glass or enameled will do. Aluminum bowl can not be used, as it can easily oxidize. When the crackers are infused, the wort will be obtained, which must be filtered.

Try a variant of kvass, known as"Peter's". It should be prepared in the same way as described above, but instead of mint and raisins it is necessary to use grated horseradish and honey. You will need four hundred grams of biscuits, two liters of water, fresh yeast, fifty grams of honey and the same amount of horseradish.
