The coefficient of compaction of sand is a necessary indicator in the choice of material
Sand is used in various spheresconstruction, therefore it is very important to know how to properly calculate the required amount of this material. If its measurement is by volume, it is very important to take into account such an indicator as the coefficient of compaction of sand (abbreviated Kupl). Without it, this calculation is indispensable. This indicator is important in order to understand how much condensation has occurred.
Volume of material
The specified parameter can be affected by a number of externalfactors, such as the mode and range of transportation. To avoid changing the volume of sand, you must completely protect it from mechanical damage, as well as from penetration of moisture and foreign elements. Verification of the specified material must take place immediately upon admission, so that then the recipient has no claims to the supplier.
Coefficient of compaction of sand
This indicator depends on:
- Temperature and humidity. For example, in winter, frozen lumps may appear. Their volume is also taken into account.
- Conditions of carriage.
- Important classification of the material in accordance with GOST 8736-93 and GOST 25100-95, which indicates its natural moisture and density.
- The coefficient of compaction of sand also depends on where it was obtained. For example, this material from the quarry differs from that extracted from the pile.
It is very important to take into account the relativesealing of sand. This indicator is necessary for the specified calculation. Basically it represents the ratio of the density of the "dry" material (skeleton). This takes into account the coefficient of compaction of sand (SNiP 2.05.02-85) to the same parameter in the source of production.
The calculation depends on several factors:
- From the characteristics of the source where the material was obtained (hydroscheme, quarry).
- From climatic conditions.
- From the transport scheme of delivery of material to the packing place.
- From the source's passport data. It records such data as the characteristics of sand, its natural density and humidity, and so on.
Tip
To determine other indicators, one should takethe required amount of test material from a depth of about 20-25 cm from the surface and at least 50 cm from the walls of the body. This is important for research. Samples of the specified material must pass in accordance with GOST 12071-84. Also, each of them must have an accompanying label, on which the necessary data should be indicated. It should be borne in mind: in order to protect yourself against additional costs during work, it is necessary to initially correctly calculate the volume of sand. The value of the coefficient of compaction of sand is very important in the construction of roads, as the strength of the structure depends on this.
