We use SIP panels in the construction of houses

In our time in the construction market constantlythere are some new items. In particular, such novelties include SIP panels. This material is of interest not only because of its special design, but also because of its extraordinary properties.

How the material is arranged

All SIP panels are based on two OSB slabs(oriented-strand), between which is a layer of high-quality expanded polystyrene. In fact, it is the same OSB, but made in the form of a "sandwich". Some mistakenly believe that such slabs are "close relatives" of the EAF. This is not true. Unlike the latter, they are not made from low-grade production waste, but from specially prepared fine chips. In addition, they produce a special synthetic resin that does not release formaldehyde vapors into the surrounding air.

No matter how improbable this may seem, thisthe material is capable of withstanding enormous loads. In particular, manufacturers report that one square meter can withstand loads of up to ten tons! This is about the same as if the first floor of the standard "Khrushchev" had been made from a SIP panel, while the other floors would have been built of bricks and concrete. As you can see, you will not complain about the fragility of the material.

On the deflection they are also very strong. One panel can safely sustain a weight of a couple of tons, so building houses from SIP panels assumes their use as overlapping. However, they can not boast of anything special in this respect. But the panels have excellent thermal insulation properties and can absorb quite well street noise of medium intensity. Unlike the same chipboard, they do not care about moisture, and they do not suffer much from mechanical damage.

Where they can be used

As we have already said, the projects of houses made of panelsSIP is not a rarity. They can be used for erection of external and supporting walls, ceilings, door and window openings. However, we would like to say that between floors of overlapping of them should not be done. The fact is that they create the effect of the drum, forcing the tenants on the lower floors to "enjoy" the noise from the upper neighbors. But for attic floors, their use is fully justified.

A big advantage of the SIP panel is thatthe fact that the floor of them is laid "clean", without making a rough draft. You can put linoleum, laminate or parquet directly on it. For walls, however, the use of such material is in fact an ideal option. In just a couple of weeks, you can build a house and make an interior decoration.

Please note that on the basement of the foundation you needit is necessary to fasten the harness, to which the first corner panels fix the bolted connections. The length of the bolts is not less than 20 cm, and it is desirable to use an anchor. Carefully fill all the cracks with a quality foam. Walls from the inside can be finished with plasterboard, fixing it to the same mounting foam and screws. Use additional materials for wall insulation is optional: they will withstand even temperatures of -50 degrees Celsius.
