Sidewalk gutter: types and purpose
Especially fast this process can occur incold season. The water falling under the tile, freezing, expands and tears it from the base. As a result, the pavement loses its attractive appearance, and often becomes dangerous for movement. Therefore, the usefulness of such a construction as a drainage pavement, it is difficult to overestimate.
Often for the manufacture of such pavementelements use concrete. Its quality is subject to special requirements. In any case, when mixing the mixture should be used cement grade not lower than M300. Actually, the technology of production of such a structure, as a drainage pavement, has some of its features. In particular, the so-called vibration method is used. Concrete mixture is laid in a special form and installed on a vibrating table. As a result, the finished product acquires special qualities, since water and air bubbles are removed from the mixture.
The drainage pavement, as already mentioned above, can also be made of metal or plastic. Both these materials have their advantages and disadvantages. Metal gutters are unusually strong. However, they are often not resistant to corrosion and are noisy. Such structures are often used not only to drain water from sidewalks, but also to protect them from rainwater from foundations, when installing drainage systems in suburban areas, and so on.
The installation of such a structure as a drain will benot only to prevent the formation of puddles on the sidewalk, and, consequently, to increase the convenience of its use, but also to prevent erosion of the base. In addition, the foundations of houses located in the immediate vicinity will also be additionally protected. Therefore, the use of drains seems appropriate. To buy and install such structures a lot of money will not be needed. Savings while using them can be more than significant, because repair sidewalks, especially tiled, will have much less.
