International Day - Nurse's Day

Every year on May 12, the International Day is celebrateda nurse, or International Nurses Day (the name adopted as a worldwide one). On this day, everyone should prepare to pay tribute to people who work for the benefit of others, who dedicated their lives to helping mankind.

International Nursing Day is acceptedto celebrate the birthday of one of the most famous Englishwomen, Florence Nightingale, who organized the very first service of the sisters of mercy in the world during the flared up Crimean War (1853-1856).

There is nothing more beautiful than when one person can benefit many people, can encourage everyone who has lost interest in life with a smile, who already does not hope for salvation, who is broken by illnesses and hardships. Be attentive and at least once a year remember those who are ready to support you in a difficult moment.

Day of the nurse is celebrated for about 150years. However, officially it began to be celebrated only in January 1974. Mankind still remembered the merits of these brave women. The International Day of the Nurse began to celebrate when the nurse of mercy was united from various countries, the number of which was 141. A professional public organization, the International Council of Nurses, was formed.

Russia is a little behind with the adoption of thisholiday. And only in 1993 it was decided to add it to the general list. This suggests that Nurses Day is a relatively young holiday. It remains to be hoped that the younger generation will be able to penetrate its importance, having become acquainted with the history of this heroic profession.
